Here's the Dirt

I'm a 34 year old mom, wife, runner and new Crossfitter. I got into running after I had my 2nd son and was a whopping 210 pounds! At 5'4" that was pretty bad, pictures were not flattering. I have gone through a lot of diets. Too many diets. I'm now changing the way I think and eat. I'm eating clean and loving it!

I started going to the gym 6 mornings a week. I started just walking on the treadmill, then walking on an incline on the treadmill, and then jogging/walking. Somewhere I heard about a 5K that benefited a battered women's shelter. I thought "why not?" So I focused on getting 3.1 miles in a row without dying and went on my way.

On mile 1 of the 5K I caught the bug. I felt it. I got goosebumps, tears in my eyes, and I just knew......this is it! That was April 2009 and I have done a bunch of races to include a few 10Ks, 1/4 marathon, multiple 1/2 marathons, a marathon (that was TOUGH), and a few triathlons. I now show up 5 days a week at Crossfit Annandale to get strong.

Exercise has saved my life. My husband has enabled me to keep it going. Staying healthy, strong, and mostly sane.
