What does 2012 look like?

So far 2012 has been great. I'm really hoping to keep that up - it just feels so fresh at the beginning of the year.

The family and I have TONS going on this year. Let's take it month by month:

January: Sammy turns 5!!!!!

February: Sam turns 33!

March: Sam and I run the 1/2 Marathon (sam's 1st!)

March: My sister gets married in St. Lucia. Jealous?

April: 1st tri of the season and Cherry Blossom 10 miler

 April: Mason turns 4!

May: 1st Mcdonnell Lake swim

June: Sam does the I love this Tavern Tri in Richmond

July: Redeem myself at Colonial Beach sprint tri

August: Off! That's right, nothing on the books :)

September: ending the season together in Reston for the perfect 10

Now, we are done in September. We no longer pretend that the cold training, water, and runs don't bother us. We are cold weather wimps. Whew, that felt good to say.

Here's to 2012. Staying healthy, getting fit, and having fun!

What didn't I win last night? Let me tell you ALLLLLL about it....

Last night was Ladie's Night at Potomac River Runners. These are my favorite! There is always food, wine, freebies and raffles. I love a good raffle. I also had $50 in gift cards from the Reston Tri. Needless to say, I walked in like I owned the place.

My mom came with me and we walked around, looked at stuff, had a drink, and hit the clearance rack. Around 8:30 they started the drawings. The first few things to go were jackets and some other stuff I didn't hear. I was really there for the free shoes. Last year at this same Ladies Night I won a pair of Brooks shoes. That was pretty great. They announced they had 2 more drawings - for the shoes. The next name they called was my mom! Yeah mom!!! She squealed...it was funny. The next name they called was not there, same with the next. Then. They called MY name! What!!!??? We both won running shoes! Wahooooo!

So what did I walk out with? Thanks for asking....

I bought shoes, then won a pair. Shoes for a year!

Ladies Night! and I won new shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still can't believe it! I went to Ladies Night at Potomac River Runners last night from 7-9. They promised Whole Foods Catering, wine, beer, water, sales, giveaways, goody bags.....why wouldn't I go? It was GREAT!

The goody bag is a reusable Brooks tote and the shirt is a Potomac River Runner dry fit shirt. I walked around bought some GU Rocktane, a TRI magnet, and a fuel belt bag. I drank some wine, walked around some more.....then it was time for the raffle.

You had to be there to win so alot of people were out just because they had left. SCORE for me! They gave away some shirts, some bags, some mineral bath soak (supposed to be like an ice bath - i'm totally intrigued)......and shoes. I. won. the.shoes!

Brand new Brooks Ghost 3 lime green shoes! I have not worn brooks before, they are pretty comfy. I still feel like I stole them :)
